APPLE PIE Serves 8

INGREDIENTS

1 pie crust (use from this recipe)
6 cups tart apples, peeled and thinly sliced
1/3 cups sugar
½ tsp cinnamon
½ tsp nutmeg
3 tbsp flour
2 tsp lemon juice
½ cup brown sugar
3 tbsp butter, softened

PREPARATION

Pre-heat the oven to 450°.
Roll out the pie crust and arrange in the pie plate.

Mix the sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and 1 tablespoon of flour well in a large bowl, then add apples and toss until the slices are well coated, sprinkle with lemon juice.

Put it all into the pie crust.

Mix the brown sugar, butter, and the other 2 tablespoon of flour with a fork in a small bowl. Sprinkle over the apples.

Bake for 10 minutes, then the lower heat to 350°, and bake another 45 minutes or till the crust is golden brown.

Serve this wonderful dish hot, with a cold dollop or vanilla icecream.
